Q1: What is the typical duration of a course? A1: Most of our courses are structured in 3 terms (Autumn, Spring & Summer) each with two 6-week blocks to provide a comprehensive learning experience. We also offer three classes on a drop-in basis for those looking for more flexibility. Detailed information about the duration and schedule of each course is provided in the course descriptions on our website.

Q2: Are materials and equipment provided in the courses? A2: Yes, all necessary materials and equipment are provided for the majority of our courses. Specific details about what is included can be found in each course description. For certain specialized classes, there may be a list of recommended or required personal supplies.

Q3: Can I get a refund if I need to cancel my enrolment? A3: We understand that plans can change. Our full refund policy can be seen on the T&Cs page

Q4: Are children welcome? A4: Most of the classes at Assembly Arts are aimed at adults. However, we do have some YP courses for those between 12-17 and we are happy for those under 18 to come to one to one sessions if accompanied by an adult.

Q5: How do I get to Assembly Arts? A5: Assembly Arts is conveniently located a short walk from both Lancaster train station and the Common Market Street bus stop. For cyclists, there is bike parking available in front of our building. If you are driving, there is car parking available across town. For those traveling from the north by car, we recommend using the park and ride service, as it can often be more cost-effective than the car parks in town. Detailed directions and additional travel information can be found on the "location" page of our website.

Q6: I have some accessibility requirements - can you tell me about your building? A6: We are happy to discuss accessibility requirements with you on a one to one basis and make reasonable accommodations. We do have difficulties accommodating those with complex mobility issues: Our workshops mainly take place on the first floor of the building. Our specialist equipment & our toilets are also on that floor & on a mezzanine floor. Meaning most workshops require travelling up at least one flight of stairs, sometimes two. There is a very old, broken, stair lift on site which neither we nor our landlord can currently afford to get fixed or replaced (we've had estimates of £30k). There is no parking on site - the closest disabled parking is located on Common Market Street. Despite these difficulties we are happy to say we have successfully hosted people with many different requirements (including wheelchair users and those with impaired vision) by making the most of our gallery space on the ground floor. We have also found that our fire staircase, which is grey with red handrails on both sides has been useful for some people. Please contact us before visiting or booking to discuss your own requirements, so that we can work with you within the limitations of our building. We would like to do more. If you could help with the stair lift or simply would like to be kept in the loop, please let us know by emailing us hello@assemblyarts.co.uk

Q7: How can I contact you or my teacher for more information? A7: You can contact us directly at hello@assemblyarts.co.uk. If you ever need to reach your class teacher, their professional email can be found on the teacher bio page on our website.
